What is happening with your net connection? what type of setup do you have? how do you want things to work? which box has the wireless NIC in it the windows or fedora box?

sorry let me clear thigns up. I currently have a Dell Latitude D266XT laptop. Linux installs and runs fine under it. The problem I encounter is that while my wired pcmcia nic works fine, my wireless pcmcia card , the DWL-650 Rev M1, does not work in Fedora Core 1. I was hoping that with the use of the 2.6 kernel in Fedora Core 2 that there may be support for this card. There are drivers for the card but they are for the 2.4 kernel and they fail to load when I tried to compile and insert them into the 2.4 kernel in fc1. I'd really like to be able to remove windows from this laptop and run linux but I need the ability to use wireless and don't have the money to spend on a new wireless card.

When you say the wireless card does not work with FCL so you mean the kernel does not see it? or does it not pick up an IP address? I did a quick G4L search and found this info that may help http://www.google.com/linux?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=DWL-650+Fedora+Core+1&btnG=Google+Search
