View Full Version : FC2 and RPM file association

I installed FC2 and went to install my NVIDIA drivers and when the CD autostart it asks what program to open it with. This was an install over RH9, this is a killer because my lan is part of the chip set.
First off I thought that the Nvidia chip set was supported in this release.
Second, why is the RPM format not supported. I might have missed something on the install but I doubt it.
Any ideas why it is asking for a file association for an RPM file
TIA

If using GNOME, here's the solution for the clicking an rpm in nautilus error:
1. Right click an RPM file. Choose Open With: An Application
2. Choose Install Packages from the list and click the Modify button
3. Select "Use as default for RPM Package Items", click OK.
That's it. If in KDE, I just don't know.

I got the RPM to attempt to install but is said that my FC NVIDIA driver was an older version than the RH9 driver.
I booted from the ERD CD and thought that I was doing a clean install
without repartitioning, it left some of my drivers and all of my bookmarks and some of my system settings (I'm using KDE). This release did fix the mouse problem with a KVM switch.
The NIC hardware shows as active but ethr0 shows inactive. I would assume it is a driver/install problem. Everything else seems to be working.
anybody else had this problem?
TIA
Bob
