FC2 Virtual desktop disabling?

I have a Dell D600 laptop plugged into a docking station. When I boot a newly installed FC2 alone (not in dock) the screen resolution is fine at 1024x768. When I plug the laptop into the dock, the desktop size is much larger than the screensize (19in. monitor) and you have to scroll around using the mouse to see the desktop.

How do I turn off this feaure? I want to run a 1280x1024 screen resolution. My monitor is a Nokia 446Xpro and handles 1600x1280 just fine with windows.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can run FC2 at 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 just fine. Via the menus, choose System Settings -> Display and choose a different resolution than 1024x768. I use 1152x864 at home and 1600x1200 at work.
