Hi

I need to modify some parameters in the xorg.conf file. But there is no xorg.conf in /etc/X11. Also I installed the radeonhd driver and would like to enable it, but if can't edit this xorg.conf, I don't know how to do it.

What happened to xorg.conf?

X11/Xorg can now run without any xorg.conf file, using probed/default values. To generate a hard-copy to edit, run system-config-display (aka "Display Manager") and save.

Done!

Thanks!

(It's important to note that system-display-config has to be installed)

system-config-display may be missing in the default F10 beta, you can install it via yum or use Xorg to generate the file instead. (system-config-display will give you less complicated file iirc)

As root run

Xorg -configure :1

(You need to specify display :1 since the default display :0 is probably in use)

Hello!
FC9 xorg.conf will be ok i guess?Maybe, but I would not necessarily assume so....

EDIT: Interesting - I just came across this, from https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/YumUpgradeFaq, which answers the above question: Version specific notes
Fedora 9 -> Fedora 10 Beta

* You will need to remove your old xorg.conf, otherwise X hangs once you log into the desktop. It's probably a reasonable idea to back it up before you delete it, so:

mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.backup

* restart X after doing this.
