Switch change desktop from gnome to fvwm

I am trying to switch to fvwm as a window manager but neither getting a .xinitrc or a .xessions or using switcher seem to work.

Anyone has any idea?

Make sure that you have fvwm installed (yum install fvwm) and once you are asked for a password, look at the bottom of the screen at something called "session". Switch to fvwm. Done.
