When I do a kernel update it will install all the files into the boot dir but when it comes time to build initrd-2.6.27-1.fc10.x86_64.img the system just sits there and I have to ctrl-c to quit. It never gets installed. I have used yumex to remove the kernel and tried to install it from the command line and still the same problem...
This one got me.. Any suggestions?

STILL SAME PROBLEM with kernel-2.6.27-13.fc10.x86_64.img. will install the kernel but does not make initrd-2.6.27-13.fc10.x86_64.img.. I have gone to the terminal and put in the command

mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.27-13.fc10.x86_64.img 2.6.27-13.fc10.x86_64

and it just hangs. When I ctrl-c i get back to the command prompt. no file is made, I have removed the kernel and tried a reinstall using yumex and it just hangs at 99% done.....

There has to be an answer out there somewhere..

Thanks

SOLVED!

I did a kernel update to the new rc1 from a fresh boot to init 3. All went fine... Installed the dev and headers and then was able to install the nvidia drivers and have a happy machine once again:)
