View Full Version : Resolution Not Supported on HDTV after install F9

I just installed F9 on a homebuilt pc with Asus p5q-em. After install and reboot, my hdtv displays the booting process but after text mode, i get "mode not supported" which is my tv telling me that the resolution is wrong for it to display. How do I set it up when its first booting up?

Hello and welcome. Please do the following firstsu -
yum update yum*
yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing-newkey
rebootIf any errors appear, post back here. Also, we need to know your graphic card and F9 version. Post/sbin/lspci && uname -a

do i try that in grub? As a couple of seconds after i get to the "welcome to fedora 9 enter i for interactive setup" i lose the display. im not sure which version of f9 im using.

Not in grub. You'll need to edit kernel line and start in text mode only.
Press e
Using arrow keys go to extreme right and delete rhgb quiet and leave only 3 as shown below kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26.5-45.fc9.x86_64 ro root=UUID=76c42477-c097-4046-8577-152d9ce954dd rhgb quiet kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26.5-45.fc9.x86_64 ro root=UUID=76c42477-c097-4046-8577-152d9ce954dd 3
Press Enter
Press b
Login as root and follow given instructions.
