Hi all,
so i did like almost everyone, download the beta, did a fresh installation and started checking it out.
I was very impressed by the new gnome version, they finally fixed the time zone and weather conflict and it seemed it did not collide with the .27 kernel.
The installation went really well, its nice that now anaconda allows the user to rename the machine.
The problems i faced were:
1. Desktop hanging
2. No wireless (wl, b43)
3. Could not retrieve updated packages, repos missing.
4. Nvidia driver and compiz produced an error
5. No sound (system boots muted)
More or less i expected these after all the release is a beta. Since i use the laptop for my daily work i reverted to F9, that still thrills me even after so many months.
So, eagerly waiting for the final.
Good job devels, your efforts are very much appreciated.
BTW the .iso i downloaded from a german mirror was last updated from the 25th, 5 days before public release. Maybe it was the non updated first beta version which never got released? Who knows?
UPDATE
I downloaded again yesterday and it is still the same, so the german mirror had the updated version after all

i installed F10 beta yesterday to my desktop and fortunately i did not suffer from such heavy bugs nevertheless due to various incoveniences it is not usable so far. if you want to test it, feel free but remember to post bugs so that they are repaired.

Using it as I would my regular desktop and have had not one complaint so far. My main box has an nVidia graphics card, so might be crying the blues on the one. For right now though I'm very happy with F10.
I am running f10 x86_64 on my desktop with a nvidia card and the new beta drivers have it running just fine. Compiz and all. Using KDE for the desktop and no crashes. (yet). The nvidia driver is running 2 -22" monitors with one spanning desktop. Had to trick the xorg.conf a bit to get it to accept the second monitor at 1680x1050 res. It always came up at 1400... Other than that
I LOVE F10... F9 worked but was a bit flaky for me.. F10 beta seems Rock Solid....

Thanks for that info. I might give it a try later today on my main machine as I am finding it to be solid as well. I've not touched F9 since I installed the beta.
sure thing here is a link to the new beta drivers

I just install live CD x86_64 works awesome. i also download Full DVD, but it seems to have some errors during installation, so i download the live cd and it's awsome works perfect. ALL MY DRIVERS ARE OK. My laptop is Lenovo R61i, don't need to config. anything. Seems to be faster, and i like new icons very nice.... great job....

I think linux friendly hardware has a lot to do with the beta user experience, although even with minor tweaks, nowdays most pc's are considered to be linux friendly. I will wait for the official release and then i will just update my box.

F10beta downloaded yesterday and No desktop hanging here, dont have wireless on desktop, I am having trouble with add-remove ( trys to find packages but I noticed on gnome panel that notify was telling me I can't install without priviledges ? ), but updating seems ok. On boot ( as in alpha as well ) I also have muted audio and zero volumne at boot. I have increased volumne yet stilll no sound in sound preferences ( deviced is there and autodetect is set, but 'test' yields no sound).
As noted I have not updated yet so I presume this might be fixed in updates ?
I have a pretty stock 3 year old system which is asus AI mobo with nvidia chips and realtek ac97 onboard audio. I have not tried to install nvidia drivers yet for my 8800GTX gpu.
I do detect a clearly sluggish system but I imagine debug is still active so I expected that.
cheers
