The release date for Beta is today and it looks as though that date hasn't changed in the last few weeks. Anyone see any reason why I wouldn't be downloading in a couple hours?

So am I. Didn't have too much luck with the Alpha release so I'm hoping that Beta will be a huge improvement. I'll be installing it on my laptop along side my Fedora 9 daily user.

tried an update of rawhide to get the beta early BUT it had a million errors on the install. Guess that I will wait for the beta and do a fresh install. Odd numbers of fedora kinda are lacking so I am hungry for 10!

They are seeking approval to push Beta release back to the 30th, and everything else pushed back a week as well. I wouldn't hold your breath on seeing it released today.

Here's what I grabbed:
* From: Jesse Keating <jkeating redhat com>
* To: fedora-devel-announce redhat com
* Subject: Further recommended slip of Beta, and Fedora 10 schedule
* Date: Mon, 22 Sep 2008 10:42:14 -0700
After a week(end) of hacking, we're just not there yet for Beta. There
are a few more anaconda issues that we're tracking down:
* Network installs where network needs to be brought up in stage2
* Installs via Media
* Doing something with tracebacks
We're fairly confident that we've got fixes for these issues, but given
the current timeline we'd rather have a few more days of testing rather
than rush something out that doesn't work.
The Release Engineering team is recommending a slip of the Beta release
date to Tuesday Sept 30th. To go along with this slip, we recommend
that all further points of the Fedora 10 schedule slip out a week as
well, which would put the Fedora 10 release date at November 25th.
While we realize that this is a Holiday week for the vast majority of
people in the United States of America, the work for Fedora 10 would
have to have been completed by Nov 20th in order to release on the 25th
so there should not be (many) schedule conflicts. Any further slipping
of the schedule will slip around this holiday week.
FESCo will need to ACK this schedule change, and we are also making sure
this schedule doesn't conflict with (m)any thing(s) at Red Hat, and
other distributions. An announcement of the schedule change will be
made when it is fully approved.

Looks like another week folks. :(
I'm sure a guy could always do a Rawhide install from a mirror...then build your own spin with Revisor. Dunno how good an idea that is...but it should allow you to create a DVD for installing on other machines.

i noticed Xorg7.4 an X-Server 1.5.1 has been released maybe thats why they have pushed it back?
ok i just read that there is a Major Bug found in the kernel 2.6.27 RC7 which could be the reason why the slippage also http://osnews.com/story/20318/Major_Corruption_Bug_in_e1000e_Driver_in_Linux_Ker nel_2_6_27
With the Beta Slipping by a week, will this mean the final will also Slip to possibly early December?

I was thinking to wait a couple of weeks after beta release and then to upgrade. You know, in case bugs appear
