I have been updating in the Rawhide tree since shortly after installing Fedora 9 in May and the progress has been great. I am now running into a some issues that I wanted help on and thought it might be beneficial for all, as it is going to alpha beta for fc10.

First off my hardware specs since my machine is fairly new and this is why I went to rawhide

intel quad 6600 with nvidia ultra 790i bridge chiset on a evga motherboard and twin sli configured nvida 8600gt video cards with 6GB DD3 ram.

the big problem is that with the latest round of updates alsa went from 1.0.17 to 1.0.18 however when running also info is still shows the drivers at 1.0.17 which I am guessing is why my audio suddenly stopped working.

alsa-info link http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=579acbcc1eb93509dcb376c1c9f7b6d68d8522be

despite the clear existance of my sound card and webcam mic neither show up in the pulse audio tools and when trying a alsamixer -c 1 or 0 i get

wrong -c argument '0' or
wrong -c argument '1'

/var/log messages gives this when attempting to start pulseaudio

Is Rawhide giving unstable packages? Because I installed F9 some days ago and I have been updating with this repo. After 800 packages, I reboot my computer and I got (mysteriously) this : Fedora (2.6.27-0.323.rc6.fc10.i686).

Now, I cannot access to that session (I think it's and nvidia package problem and it does not detect a "screen") so I entered in the preview kernel (Fedora (2.6.26.3-29.fc9.i686) ) but anything work! Alsa is gone and yum/yumex too. I cannot update or do anything, it says that it cannot find livna repo. I tried removing the livna repo but it cant find the other ones.

I think im going to install f9 from the dvd again, any suggestions ?
