I know i'm starting a holy war worser than the distrubution and the editor war, but I am nasty :D
So what beer do you like?
I like belgian cherry and raspberry beer. In Germany it would be illegal to make it, but in Belgium they are allowed to.
So now you turn.

I like many different beers. My favourite lager is probably Budweiser followed by Grolsch. My favourite "Real Ale" would be Abbot Ale aka "Loony Juice" or Adnams Broadside.
I'm also partial to a pint of Guiness, but thats beside the point.
At least here in the UK we have real Pubs where you can enjoy these fine beverages. ;)

I'm not a fan of the fruity stuff, but I do like the pumpkin ales that appear in the fall. My favorite type of beer is India Pale Ale, very hoppy and crisp taste. My favorite "well-known" beer is probably Bass Ale, not an IPA but good for all occasions. Not too dark not too light. Of the lesser known microbrews, I love Cottonwood Endo, an IPA from Asheville, NC and Anchor Steam (San Francisco). And for ilja, my favorate German beer is Paulaner Hefe-Weizen. I also enjoy Franziskaner Dunkel but the stuff imported into the US is not nearly as good. ;)

Bass a classic English pint. ;) But you don't get a real pub to drink it in.

Is Guinness a try woth? Here in Aachen there is an irish pub, I thought about enter it and order a Guiness, but I doubt, that I will drink much of it ;)
P.S. I thought French only drink wine ;)

Guiness is worth it. But don't drink it in an "Irish Theme" pub - try and find a real pub. ;)

I like some of our local beers here in NZ, especially Monteiths I also like Tennents and Guinness but you have to go for an 'Irish' pub to find it here (An irish pub here is basically a pub with guinness on tap and some green paint splashed on the walls). I am not so fond of Heineken or other so called 'premium international beers' they seem to be lacking something.

Pilsner Urquell. I also enjoy an occasional Guiness, but then you've got that d**n fake Irish pub problem....

PAULANER (there is no better way 2 relax on an warm sunny afternoon (noon / evening / any oter time of the day ) than with a (sorry metric system) 0.5 l glass of pure cold Weizen)
all the beers between 60 cent and 1 Euro at my local "trinkhalle" (also known as tiny shop where u can learn every language expect german / cos u r in germany and those folks cant usualy seak my language. But they do understand the meaning of beer weizen and Paulaner...)

FRIST POTS!!!11!!!
Just kidding. New Fedora user though (installed FC1 a few days ago from CDs that were a freebie on a RHCE course).
Anyway, on to more serious matters...
Booze: pretty much anything. I do draw the line at domestic US beers unless I'm feeling really cheap (PBR anyone?) :) I quite like Canadian lagers, usually Moose Head or Molson. Guinness is always a winner, except having been drinking in Ireland, I've been spoiled ever since. It's just not up to the same standard in the US or even Britain.
I used to drink whisky a fair bit (actually started out on it), but not so much since a rather unfortunate incident (and we all know about those, don't we?)

on a regular basis: MGD
when I'm drinking with Dad: Killian's, Bass, or Anchor Steam
for dessert at a restaurant: Guinness
when with friends: Heinekin (I think it's *****, but they're trendy motherf*ckers)
My favorite would have to be between MGD and Killian's. They're both real smooth and taste great, but I'll drink Killians when I wanna just relax and have a peaceful evening, whereas MGD is for when I'm standing around the grill or BSing with around the house.

well well...Believe it or not i am a poor college kid so i drink natural light...then i turned 21 and drink better beers...there is a local resturant the brews there own beers and everyday from 3-6 its happy hour and you get $1.50 pints so i go there a lot. I enjoy there Blackstone Stout and there Scotch Ale they have some other ones that are good but i would rather have thoes 2 the black stone is 5.9% alcohol and the scotch ale is 7.9%......another nice thing is you can order 1/2 gallon jugs for $7 and take them home if you would like.

In the US do you have pubs - in the British sense? From what I can make out they're always bars.

What defines a pub vs. a bar? I'm not sure if I can put the difference into words but I know I can sense it when I walk into drinking establishments. I think it has a lot to do with atmosphere, not just what's being served. In my mind pubs are a place where a mixed bunch of people can come together for a relaxing chat over a pint or two (or more) :)
Bars seem to have a more aggressive feel to them, as if everyone is there with an agenda (usually to get laid, apparently). I don't like that kind of atmosphere. Unfortunately, places like that are everywhere in downtown Chicago :)

Unfortunately, places like that are everywhere in downtown Chicago :) Well a pub in Britain is a public house and is treated as such. Its a place where people meet and relax generally - theres often food available or sport. A pub is likely to have "regulars" as well.
A bar is something more aggressive - and not likely to have regulars. ;)

We had a lot of pubs in Chicago. And in my experience, bars have regulars as well. The difference was really that bars are less friendly than pubs. Sure, the occasional drunken fight would break out, but at least people are social in pubs. In bars, it's more than likely to be old men with nothing better to do with their check than get piss ass drunk. it's the clubs that I don't like. Dance or whatever....I hate 'em.....cept for the occasional cabaret show...i think gay shows are funny. There's some real talent there too.
Anyways....that's that...

Do like a good pint of IPA, but not so easy to come across these days. Guinness Extra Cold is a suitable alternative.
But I must admit my preference is for Stella Artois, although I'm currently on Atkins, so have to stick to Michelob Ultra! :o

I love IPAs. The more hoppy the better.
Typically, I drink Victory's HopDevil. Dogfishhead's 60 - 120 Minute IPAs are also excellent.
Another good one is Yard's ESA (Extra Special Ale).
When winter settles in, I turn to Imperial Stouts and Barleywines.
Victory's Storm King and Brooklyn's Black Chocolate Stout are 2 good imperial stouts.
Brooklyn's Monster and Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot Ale are excellent barleywines.
Now I'm thirsty....

Their Lager is the best! http://www.yuengling.com/beers.htm Smooth with incredible flavor and just the right amount of bite. Once you start drinking it most other American beers don't seem to come close. (I've never had the pleasure or benefit of traveling to Europe yet. Also there is nothing like the smell of a batch brewing in the afternoon when I drive by the brewery on my way home. (I live 10 blocks from it) Only thing that may be better is driving by the Hershey Factory when they are making the chocolate.
