HP Scanjet 3400c

I am trying to use my scanner but it is not supported by the scanning software. It shows up under control center and I was wondering if I could somehow mount it as a usb disk. If not, ok but if so how would I do this? Thanks.

what obout hp-scanjet 4670

4670 seems also not to be supported : http://www.sane-project.org/unsupported/hp-scanjet-4600.html and also I can see not project to change it
