Nice. Get some photos when you do. You would be the first as far as I can tell to attempt such a thing.

Moved to Fedora Focus.

Does anyone know if the Xbox can run a Linux Live cd or do you have to actually install the Linux distribution on to the sytem?

If you're willing to open up the XBox, you can cross-install Fedora Core 3 by using a regular PC, and then update the kernel using an XBox-specific kernel RPM. The kernel rpm and accompanying XBox boot-disk can be found at http://www.not404.com

other then fedora being nice. why?

there's already very well developed and supported xbox linux distro's out there.

GentooX is pretty functional

even tho I like fedora, it's not required to be the only OS on every box you have.

That's just it: Fedora is a nice distro. It's stable, it's well-known, and it has a rich community behind it.

Look, everyone has their favorite Linux flavor. Why bother trying to start a distro flame war?

I'm not starting distro wars, I'm just being realistic, unless someone wants to do it, that's fine. but since there is already stuff out there and it's pretty well supported. effort should be awarded.

I personally do not plan to create a fedora xbox distro :P

I do rember reading an artical a while back that had some one installing Linux on the PS2. This was when I was back in england so I dont have accsess to that artical any more. It said SONY was giving out the a kit to allow to run Linux on the PS2 it included and HDD a Network adater Keyboard and mouse.

Realistic? 'Glad the rest of the intelligent world doesn't share your views. Otherwise, Linus would never have created his kernel, since Unix, BSD, and Minix were pretty well supported at the time. There was no immediate "award" (sic) for his efforts; and it wasn't until some clever folks bundled Linus' kernel with GNU software that the first Linux distros were created.

Nobody's forcing anyone to install Fedora. It's all a matter of choice, and bringing Fedora to the Xbox-Linux scene adds another choice to the menu.

Hey, at least XFedora has got NVidia video working right out of the box. :p
