Hello,
My fist post here, I have been using Ubuntu for a while and I wanted to try Fedora, so far I am very impressed with my F10 Alpha thus far.
One quick problem, I have tried searching for a solution to this, but the answers I get back are only related to previous version of FC, and do not seem applicable.
I would like to be able to install and run vlc to watch media etc, but cannot seem to find a suitable extra repos to install it from, and if anyone who is running FC10 could describe how they got media playback working in the Alpha then this would be great.
thanks!

Unless you're prepared to give feedback to the developers regarding bugs in F10 alpha it isn't really a good idea to use it. It would be better to install F9, which is quite stable now and install all the multimedia apps (links in my sig)

Yes I am aware of that, I will post bugs if and when I find them, in the mean time I would like to hear any if anyone has got media to work etc :)

Don't post bugs here. The developers do not monitor this forum. This is a user support forum with no connection with the Fedora project. Post on Fedora Bugzilla. Details are on the project page. This section of the forum is just to discuss F10 and not fix bugs.

Hello:
If you must ....
Install the livna repo
http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-9.rpm
Then
su -
gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/livna.repo
and set
enabled=1
to
enabled=0
then,
gedit /etc/yum.repos.d/livna-devel.repo
and set
enabled=0
to
enabled=1
yum clean all
You should be then able to install the needed packages from Livna. Whether everything or anything works is another matter.
I agree with Wayne's advice.
Unless you are adept at fixing things yourself, then sticking to F9 is a pretty good idea.

As Seve mentioned, it's probably best you sticked to F9 for now until F10 becomes a bit more stable. However, if you'd like to stick with the Alpha then follow the instruction Seve posted to enable Livna, and from there you can find more information about which packages to install here (http://www.firewing1.com/content/view/90/52/). Just ignore the part about configuring Livna, since that will have already been done. I'm guessing you'll want vlc and mp3 playback the most, so you'll be needing the "vlc" and "gstreamer-plugins-bad" packages for sure.
