I have a patriot 4 GB flash USB flash drive. I recently put some more files on the drive using a windows computer. Now, when I insert the drive into my Core 9 computer, it automatically mounts it but the files do not show up. Other files are there, but the newer ones are not. I have no idea how to make the files '"seen". Thanks.
Also as a side question, I cannot find the setting to make my windows open within themselves rather than opening a new windows every time I click on a new directory.

Did you just pull the flash drive from the windows machine after writing the files or did you "unmount" it first? (I can't remember what the windows term is for that)

I think I just pulled it out. When I put it back in the windows box I the files are fine.

It's been a long time since I touched an XP machine, but you still have to unmount flash drives before pulling them out. There should be an icon in the Panel thingie for it when it's inserted. The files are not properly copied to the drive until you unmount it.

In My Computer, Right-click on the icon for the drive and select Eject. Wait a few seconds until you're sure that any disk activity is finished, then remove the drive.
