View Full Version : New Community Managers?

Did anyone notice glennzo and scottro are our new community managers? I was searching the forums to find if there's any news of their new responsibilities, but couldn't find any (or maybe I did a bad job searching)

Here's wishing them all the fun they can have banning members and fighting spammers :D :p

Demz got promoted as well. Anyone seen Leigh lately?

There were 5 of us that accepted the position as Community Manager. Dangermouse, Demz, Me, Scottro and Hlingler. Apparently there was a need for new CM's as several of the CM's were no longer able to spend the time due to other commitments. I for one promise that I will not abuse my new powers to hassle Kona, even if he doesn't like Tony Stewart :)

Edit: By the way, it's been a lot of extra work already.

Victims. We call them new "victims." <....>

<..:p..>

All kidding aside, these guys are doing a GREAT job! There's been a regular up-town run on live ammunition ... and you wouldn't believe the size of the pile of bodies building up out on the midden heap! <..:D..>

Wish all the new CMs the very best and hope you have fun fighting spammers and banning 1D107 ffo members.

I haven't seen Dan or Wayne lately, are they still around?

Edit: Talk of the devil... :D :p

Why is it in General Support? If it were in the Announcements section it would have been easier to find this information. You know not everyone visits support section these days :D :p

Maybe in the Announcements section, where people would actually look for changes/news/announcements.

Too much to ask?

Dan
18th August 2008, 05:56 PM
Yeah. I guess so. <..:p..>

My fault, actually. I thought about a system wide announcement, but got distracted. <..:(..>

glennzo

That's exactly what I meant to say. And here's how,
sudo yum install beertorrent
Run it from the command line as root, not root beer, but as root,
su -
password
beertorrent
Add it as a startup program to have the beer flowing as soon as you log in. Enjoy!

Geee for the family channel, this gets kinda deep sometimes .

System wide announcement? Ummmmm what for?...no one would read it.
There's very little difference if it's an old or new CM that frags ya when ya transgress or trespass. :D

Actually we needed some more CM's around...lots of the old folks/CM's hadn't been around or had gone over/back to the dark side, well that or had fallen in lust with Ubuntu or Slack.

Actually I think Bob felt overworked...underpaid...and unloved and just wanted company to help take all the flack he was getting.
But I welcome them cuz so far only Bob and Dan have ever offered to show me the error of my ways....now there's a lot more to help with that. :)

Add it as a startup program to have the beer flowing as soon as you log in. Enjoy!I take it no admins are UK based? Given the beer throttling that goes on over here, your ISP would never let you get more than tipsy, having just a pint an hour (a pint every 3 hours at peak times).

/dig at ISPs

Congrats to all the new CMs, may the beer be with you :)

No floods this week? :)

Actually, one of my students was recently in London for a few days and she said apart from one slightly rainy day it was pretty warm.

I wouldn't mind a well placed flood umm say between me and work :D

I live in Hull now, there were major floods over here this time last year (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/6275196.stm), I moved over after all the fun, but caravans are still everywhere!

Every time it rains people panic! Now to find this flooded road.

Wayne
19th August 2008, 10:22 AM
Yeah, I've seen a lot of the flood pictures on the BBC site.

Lightning has been a problem here this year:

Wish I could e-mail you some of the rain we had last weekend! I've got family in Victoria, so I'm aware of the water situation. I'd gladly swap some of our rain for a slab of VB!

Imageshack is another option. Or if it's too personal Yousendit, and PM the links to Demz ;)

@Dan
I'm not a groper.. (especially intellectually)
I'm more along the lines of a flasher possibly.
Although I am way to prudish to do that without any jeans or britches on and zipped up too. . :)
And a shirt,,,,,,,but I will leave my shoes off! :) (but still not done intellectually )
