Okay, I finally decided to start shopping for a new laptop to replace my 1998 Sony VAIO PII-233. Would anyone care to recommend a machine that would handle a clean install of Fedora Core 2 the most smoothly?
In the absence of that, is there a hardware compatibility document available?

Dude,
Thanks for the link, it's very useful. I did a google search and didn't find this particular thread, but somehow I knew somebody here would point me the right way.
BTW, this Sony PCG 812 has actually been pretty incredible. I've run RH9, Fedora Core 1, Win2K and WinXP on it with basically no trouble. But the processor, the max 192mb RAM, and the 2mb video RAM are just a little too slow. It's finally time to upgrade.
