Hello:

I have put together a computer with a P4S533-X Motherboard. My Fedora OS is working great on it except for one thing. I have no sound!

When I search for audio devices with Soundcard Detection I get this message

The following audio device was detected
Vendor: Silicon Integrated Systems (SIS)
Model: Sound Controller
Module: i810_audio

but I can't play any sound with play test sound

I know my audio speakers are fine. It's a CZ-3090 Speaker system from Cyber Acoustics
and when I plug it into the back of my other Windows 2000 OS it plays fantastic.

Do I need to find audio drivers for my system. I was told that the motherboard had an integrated soundcard. I have used Mandrake before and it configured my sound automatically but that was with a different computer.

If I do need to get audio drivers where would i get them?

I hope I don't have to put XP back on my system to play sound cause I really like this O/S

I always tell people with sound issues in Fedora Core 1 to install the new and better sound drivers: ALSA.

See my guide: http://foolish.fedorausers.org/alsa/
