Hey guys, Im totally new to Linux and i just installed F8 from a live CD. That went pretty easy and fast. Why can't F9 be the same?! Any way i tried doing a pre-install and it spent at least 2 hours downloading all the packages. After it finished i followed the steps and shutdown. After i restarted i was greeted by the new OS selection screen or whatever....Long lived joy as the moment i started Sulphur i was given an error when it went to start up the X Window Server. Some help on things i could do would be great as i love linux and seeing it become this hard to up grade is very dis-heartening. Any help would be great.

It is the same if you install it the same way (from a live CD).

Upgrade is slower than a clean install, and installing from the Internet is slower than installing from local CD.

Yeah as you can tell im really new to linux, but i think it is a great OS and i love the community that surrounds it. Thank you. Any way i think it could also have something to do with i am using a laptop, and the chipset might not be compatible?
