View Full Version : live cd fedora 9 AMD64 local host login

i dont know what to do i run the live cd and it boots up but i cant figure out how to get past the local host login, i do not have a username and it did not prompt me to make one

It sounds like the graphical X server is not starting. What type of video card do you have? If you get to the graphical login the live cd will automatically log you in as the user "fedora" with no password. Also the user "root" has no password.

im downloading virtual pc by microsoft now so i dont have to keep re-booting my pc but when its done ill try the user fedora but i tried root and it didnt work for me, also i was going to install the full fedora off of a dvd .iso image as a dual boot with my vista home, but it wont boot it says "could not fine kernel image: linux" would you know anything about that. im sorry im new to this.

i tried fedora and it worked, as did root, but i still cant get a GUI it stays in command mode and says something like [hostlog:fedora~#] thats not exactly it but its like that. is there a command to manually start the graphical x server
