While i was trying to install Fedora 8 & Fedora 9 my new Sata Hard Disc is not detecting at the installation time. I have already installed WinXP; The funny thing is that the Fedora 7 release can be installed without any problem.
My PC have:-
160 GB Sata Hard Disc(Seagate),
ASUS A8VMX Mother Board,
512 DDR RAM,
AMD Athlon64 Processor3000+ 1800MHz

Please help me to install the new Fedora

Hallo ks_jyothis

no idea what is wrong with Fedora 9.

But you can may going around the problem, if it is only a problem at installation. It is not a relay nice way. :( And it will take a lot of time. May someone else will advice you a better way. (I did it when I was unable to install Fedora 7 on a notebook. And it worked.)

1. Install first a clean F7. Install the minimal system.
2. Update Fedora 7 to Fedora 8 with yum. Read: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/YumUpgradeFaq#head-7263cb679ba96af7196108a53a4ad37ee37745b0
3. reboot into F8
3. Update Fedora 8 to Fedroa 9 with yum.
4. reboot into F9
4. Now you are on Fedora 9 hopefully successful. Now you can add the missing System-Parts with yum. Example: yum grouplist "GNOME Desktop Environment" will add X and Gnome. To see all groups enter: yum grouplist

Good luck! :)
