Hello,
I tried installing xen. If failed. OK, I had my old kernel so I tried booting from that, but input was not supported. I deleted my xorg.conf file so it would rebuild it, and it rebuilt as 1024x768. I have an acer al1917w, it's a 1440x900 display. It is not on anybody's list, but I generally specify the al1916w. It worked when I initially installed fedora, but it doesn't work anymore. I can not get the thing to display more than 1024x768. When I go into hardware and tell it I've got a 1440x900 display in system configuration it gives me a message: "You need to log out and restart the x server for the changes to take effect. Configuration was written to /etc/X11/xorg.conf, old configuration saves as /etc/X11/xorg.conf.backup." But when I look in /etc/X11 nothing has changed! I log out and all that but no new resolution. I go into System->admin->display->hardware and it says I have 1440x900 but I still can't change the resolution. I'm using Intel 82865G integrated graphics controller so that should be well supported.
Oh, I saw there was an old thread on 1440x900 that got closed without resolution (no pun intended) because it was 4 years old and if anybody had trouble, start a new thread, so here it is. As they say in Japanese, "dozo". (I'm not Japanese but I was stationed there in the Navy; dozo in this context means roughly 'please help yourself').
