Hello All,
I just acquired an iMac G4 800MHz from a friend of mine with a bad hard drive. I have replaced the hard drive and I ordered some memory to add to the 512mb already factory installed. On these macs, I found that the user installable memory is 144-pin sodimm pc133. I have Fedora Sulphur installed.
My issues are these:
1. The system only recognizes 502mb of memory when I have clearly installed 1gb. Could it be Fedora? Could it be the age of the Mac? Could it be the memory? and how do I figure out how to recognize the new stuff?
2. None of my sound works. I had installed Yellow Dog Linux prior to Fedora and the system recognized the sound card. Now, with Fedora, I get this message when interacting with anything that utilizes the sound card:
"No volume control GStreamer plugins and/or devices found."
So how do I resolve this issue?
So that is my current dilemma. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks
-John B.
