I have a few problems, I have downloaded all 7 cd's of debian... I first tried installing it on my main comp which has 3 hard drives, one scsi, two ide. Windows NTFS partitions are filling one ide and the scsi. I want to install Debian on the extra ide. The first time I tryed this, when I rebooted my machine instead of loading LILO it just spit out 010101 till I shut my machine down!!!

Then I tried to install Debin on my other comp (while rebulding the machine I just wrecked :P) and I can't get any GUI to load. It just tries a few times and then when it shows me the log i see this "Screens found but none have a usable configuration. Fatal server error: no screens found" and when I go into the Xconfig program my usb mouse does not work even tho I made sure to install the drivers for USB mice...

My questions:
How do I get debian onto my machine properly? Special LILO settings?
How do I get my usb mice to work?
How can I get the GUIs to load?

Edit: also, I only use ONE of the 7 cds in installation... is this normal? I had c++ dev, Xwidow or some such, and another relating to a GUI...

Thanks for all your help in advance!

You might want to head on over to http://www.debianhelp.org/ or http://www.debian.org/support

Good luck!
