Hi,

I got a new Acer Aspire 1501LMi with FC2 x86_64 running. Now I got a problem, if I got an x.org running and try to change to a real terminal (STRG+ALT+F1) the x.org crashes and if there is no gdm running my system freeze. If I boot in runnlevel 2 there is no problem with the terminals, if no x.org is running.
Can this have something to do with the vesa driver (my mobile radeon 9600 is not supportet by ati driver in 64bit) and if, what can I do ?

Change it to the radeon driver. Just replace the line driver "vesa" to driver "radeon" and you'll use the radeon driver that supports most things apart from 3D.

Thanks, it works for x.org, no crashes, but 3d is slower as with the vesa driver...
I hope ATI release the x86_64 version of fglrx-driver.

Well, I'm all for ATI releasing the drivers for x86-64, but I'd rather use the xorg drivers. More open sourced, not kernel taints, and that sort of thing.

Glad that solves your crashing problems.
