I have tried to set up a samba share to allow my windows pc access to 2 folders on Fedora. I can see two computers in my network neighbourhood, localhost and fedora.

If i double click on them i get the error "The network path was not found" the strange thing is i can view the Appache test page from my windows machine and ping it, I cannot ping the windows box from fedora.

Have I set the hostnames or something wrong?

How can I fix this?

Thanks

If you can't even ping the address, then make sure everything else works first. What I mean is check the box you want to connect to, in this case the Fedora box, check it's network connection, cables, internet access, etc. If you know all of these work, make sure all network naming is correct, like workgroups and domain names if required.

I have had success connecting my wife's xp box to my fedora box to print. I had an Okidata OL810e laser printer working great with Fedora and she was sending her prints. Good luck.
