I am currently looking for a cheap old laptop suitable for running Linux with some games, nothing fancy just the basic stuff that comes with the package, and a couple of education programs of the same sort.
I am willing to purchase or will accept a trade for all 4 computers that I currenlty have collecting dust which was going to charity but I have not had any response when I stated I would give them away.

Have you checked your local classifieds? How about a new *cheap* laptop or a refurb? You can get a lot of different low end or refurb laptops for under $500 US.

What's your budget? You can get decent sub £300 laptops which will run Fedora beautifully

For French speaking Fedora Users, there is a site which proposes mounting one's brand new own laptop with a software entirely naked disk. I have not tested it under a Linux distribution. The price starts at 180 euros. The most expensive item is the processor which only is an Intel processor. The Web site of this laptop provider is at http://www.topachat.com/pages/configomatic-pc-portable.php. If this helps someone, I am glad.

Does it not also matter which games?

The games which will be played are the ones available through the Fedora repositories such as Pysol, Ri-Li, adn Shisen-Sho. The only other then would be the Education suite that is also available in the repo.
