hi all,

today i killed windows xp, and installed fedora 8 on my pc which has 2 harddisks. but i found fedora only recognizes the first partition of the second disk, all other partitions are invisible in the system.

following is the output of "fdisk -l":

Partition table entries are not in disk order

Disk /dev/sdb: 250.0 GB, 250059350016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 30401 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xdfec70ec

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdb1 * 1 30401 244196001 42 SFS

i think it's due to partition table of the second disk, but have no idea how to fix this problem. it's terrible if i need to reinstall windows on my pc. anyone knows how to resolve it in fedora 8?

thanks a lot in advance

Was this disk used as a dynamic disk in Windows? i.e. used for a software RAID configuration?

You have set up the drive as a "dynamic" drive in Windows, that's roughly equivalent (but completely incompatible) with Linux LVM. Fedora doesn't support dynamic drives by default, you need to compile a custom kernel with LDM support and install LDM tools: http://www.linux-ntfs.org/doku.php?id=downloads#ldm_tools
