I know not all problems can be lumped together, but I have followed the nvidia readme the livina kmod-nvidia package, reviewed my log files - nothing.
I have a seperate topic with all my troubles, FX 5600, which isnt a legacy card yet.
I was just curious the amount of folks that are getting burned by this - and if ultimately we shouldn't waste too much time troubleshooting; until new drivers come out.

Burned? My laptop never worked better! I think the new Nvidia driver for F9 is great. I had blank screens in F8 though.

I get the black screen after updating to the Livna Nvidia drivers.

Are you folks using the akmod-nvidia or the kmod-nvidia?
Do some research. :)

Hmmm...Then you are doing it right. Does the kernel match the akmod-nvidia version?
edit: oops, I dont believe that matters anymore? I havent upgraded my xorg yet, I am still using the older xork with a static kernel, so this is new ground for me.

I'm still noob-ish ... I am comfortable using Linux, but not well-versed. How can I check?

I followed leigh123's instructions from this post:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=190240> If you followed that thread/post by Leigh, then you noticed that some manual "tweaking" of xorg.conf may be required.
> There's another recent thread where it was discovered that the upgraded nvidia driver clearly borks some chipsets in the GeForce 5xxx series. A search will find it.
