Hi all,

I have a Dell Dimension E521 and I was in the middle of upgrading from F8->F9 when the system froze and I had to reboot. Now, when I start up I get through the Grub screen (where I see the new F9 kernel as well as two old F8 kernels) and the text portion of the boot with all status messages showing 'OK'.

Partway through the boot, I see a blue screen with the following message:

Failed to start the X server (your graphical interface). It is likely that it is not set up correctly. Would you like to view the X server output to diagnose the problem?

Clicking yes shows the following error messages:
(EE) module ABI major version (4) doesn't match the server's version (1)
(EE) Failed to load module "vesa" (module requirement mismatch, 0)
(EE) module ABI major version (2) doesn't match the server's version (0)
(EE) Failed to load module "kbd" (module requirement mismatch, 0)
(EE) No drivers available.

Fatal server error:
no screens found

This occurs whether I boot with the F9 or F8 kernel. Any suggestions as to how to resolve this?
