Even with my high level of spamming, there's no way me or the rest of the moderating team could deal with all of your problems. ;)
It's a community effort.

That's because the secret's out. Linux now lives up to the hype. You don't need windows anymore because Linux is actually better.

I hate to mention it, Picomp314, but the statistic is really kind of meaningless. All it means is that there were 7000 people who got accounts. There are not 7000 active users - and it's the active users that determine the community. Some of those folks just signed up, and left. Some signed up to post about a problem, then left. Thousands more just cruise on by. I'm not trying to rain on the parade, because it does indicate that there's some interest in the world at large, but that's about all you can get out of that statistic, unless you compare to similar sites.
Besides, if we had 7000 active users, you think the Powers That Be would be crazy enough to make me a Moderator? ;)

PREPARE FOR THE REVOLUTION!!!
wait...wrong forum...
...I have to say though that I have been trying to convince alot of people of the benifits of linux...how many minds combine to increase software output and quality. There is nothing in windows I do not have w/ linux...and I find that I will be never able to go back to windows, linux has spoiled me...
5,000 and plenty more to relieze the benifits of open source....
:)

Any way we can get a stat on how many users have log on in the last month, that would be a good way to get a good idea of the amout of active users
