Yea the title says it all. I got her a new pc and she is now on Fedora 9 after using Windows XP for years. All the does is browse the web, email, and talk on msn really, so it didn't take her long to adjust at all.
Now, no one in my house is running Window$. [Aside from myself when I need it for school, since I'm studying computer science]

Good job.
My mother freaked out and said I broke her laptop when I tried to switch her to Xubuntu.

So did my brother, because he thought that if he and his wife barely know how to browse the internet on Win XP, they won't be able to use the computer at all if I should have switched it to F9 ....
I guess that fear is the greatest enemy of them all .... :D

Congratulations!
My mom uses Ubuntu she doesn't like 8.04 that much (upgraded herself :D ), she even installed Firefox 2 by herself because she didn't like beta 5, and recently started posting in Ubuntu-es (I think my mom is becoming a geek :P), I'm thinking about installing Fedora on her computer, but I'm not sure, maybe It's better to leave her with Ubuntu since she's used to that now.

I guess that fear is the greatest enemy of them all .... :D For many people...if they aren't that savvy with Windows...it isn't much different than not being savvy with Linux....Quite often if they just try...they don't even notice the difference. It's usually those who buy hardware (printers, mp3 players, scanners, etc) who seem to have the hardest time....since the instructions and so forth aren't written for their systems.
