Short story long...
I've been using Linux for a few months or so now and prior to installing FC8 had gone through a few other distros. The arrival of a new machine resulted in me ditching Windows and installing FC8 on the one hard drive. I bought another drive and installed FC9.
Problem was I had LVM installed and couldn't resize a drive to try anything else (I've seen threads suggesting how but nothing seemed definite) so I decided to trash FC9 and start again. I left my perfectly running FC8 install alone though.
So, I tried Gentoo and couldn't get past it not recognising my CD/DVD drive although it would do the initial boot.
I then installed Sabayon with KDE and after hours and hours of updates etc I had chance to have a play.
Not long after that I started to install Debian Lenny but couldn't get past it not recognising my network card and frankly couldn't be bothered to go through info I found to rectify that.
So, back to Sabayon but something wasn't quite right (it worked but I just didn't like it) so I trashed the lot and reinstalled FC9.
And that was when I realised everything was good and I was happy again... :)
