apache server is not accessible

I just setup the Fedora 9 last week with subversion and httpd on the box. The setup went through smoothly and I can access the apache web server by using the local browser through http://localhost or http://ip-address.

However, when I am trying to access the box from another computer, it will give me an "Unable to connect" error, tho I can ping the server.

I haven't been doing anything other than installing the svn modules, ssl modules to the httpd module dir. And I searched for a little while, I didn't actually find anyone got the same problem as I did. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Any hint would be appretiated!

BTW, I have another Fedora 6 box on the same Intranet with the same httpd setup and it works fine.

Check that firewall is not blocking the connection. Testing connection with ping is useable but quite inadequate in firewall cases...

I just realized that the default system-config-firewall settings for the box have been disabling all external connections. How could I have not checking that?! Thanks a bunch!

I have the same problem. I red all the answer to this question without any solution. Let me tell you what i did:
i decide to upgrade my fedora 7 to fedora 8 only with some problem. The fedora 8 kernel was not installed. I used my fedora 7 dvd to make a rescue and proceed to an update and replace fedora 7 package. Now I cannot start Http://localhost don't work. Java sun, Postgresql and webmin don't start.
I check my firewall.
I configure my http.conf
I can start apache finely
but http://localhost dont open.

my port 80 is open and I succed last night but this morning the test page failed to open again. Please I am new in linux and can you give some code to check my server and my computer to know what is wrong.
