All right here is the problem...I recently purchased a 250 GB hardrive in addition to my other 250 GB one! On the first drive I have Win Vista installed. The thing I want to do is install Fedora 9 on the new drive but be able to switch which system i want to boot not via GRUB but via my BIOS (by selecting which SATA drive is the primary boot in the menu). I want to be able to take the Fedora drive out, change the boot order to the Win drive and that the system functions normally. In short every drive should have his own MBR and be independent...I don't want GRUB to overwrite the MBR on my Vista drive! How would I do the installation to achieve this setup :D Hope the post wasn't to complicated :D :p

I think U can try by installing the GRUB to your newly purchased harddrive.

Exactly right, indeed this is what I do with F8 and F9. At the time of install just make sure you install GRUB to the same drive that you installed F8 to. In fact I think it will ask you to verify your decision should you choose your Windows drive for it.
