Fedor on USB problem

hi, newbie here and sorry in advance for what might be a dumb question. :rolleyes:
I had a problem with my LG laptop running Windows Vista and it's not loading. because i need to backup the HD before format the HD i am trying to load up the computer with Fedora i868 from a USB disc-on-key, each time i try to load fedora asks me for localhost login..
how can i make it stop and just load up fedora so i can back up my HD?!

can't you just login as user 'fedora' (no password) or 'root' (no password)?

If you have the Windows Vista DVD you should be able to rescue your files using the Recovery Console.
Press F10 when the machine boots - choose Recovery Console from the menu.
