Is it only me, or a bug in the recent squid update in the Fedora repository?
When I was using squid 2.6, I can use basic/PAM authentication for access control.
Now that squid has updated to 3.0, and authentication stopped working totally! I ported the old config file to the new version (with only minimal necessary changes) and squid never tries to authenticate a user. It no longer prompts for the username and password and delivers an error page right away!
I'm going to file a bug report but I'll have to wait and see if this is a general problem...
