Hi,

this is my first post :).

I've just installed FC9 on my ibook 12" G4.

After installation i cannot access sudo. It says:
"marcus is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported"

Sure, no worries i thought, i'll add myself into the list in /etc/sudoers

$ su -
[Entered my password]
su: Incorrect password

Doh. Trying again. Still not working. Then i thought, hm. Did i entered a bad password twice?

Reinstallation made, with different password that i guarantee that this was entered correct in both fields. But it's still not working!

Any help would be appreciated!

Regards,
Marcus

Well, it is really hard to tell, but double check your keyboard - capslock off, numlock off, etc.
Maybe something with your keyboard layout.
The fact that you can login as user, but cannot enter root password seems very strange, to say the least.

I've noticed the caps-lock on the Fedora PPC machines. Wondering if its state survives when powered up/down.

its a bug during the installation process.. the installer 'thinks" that the caps-lock is on..

I found that if you use the default US English the CAPS LOCK is turned on automatically.
But if you select US International. It turns off.

Just something I discovered after 3 hours of trying & reinstalling etc... then realising the CAPS was on! Even though I had not touched it. Pays to actually pay attention to what you're doing.
