i have 3 questions..can u help me?

1.i have hp 6715b laptop and fedora core 8 i need broadcom wireless driver.. where can i find it?

2. i need divx codec pack to watch .mkv . avi etc..

3. i have also microsoft presenter mouse 8000.. i didnt find it's driver :(

1. I have never used wlan, so i don't know much about that. But afaik there are drivers for Broadcom wireless devices. The drivers name is "b43". I hope that helps you.

2. Just install the vlc media player, it can play (almost) anything without any extra codecs.

3. Thats something special i guess. Maybe you should ask this in the "hardware" forum.

No problem. It was just a heads up.

In that "read this first" section, you will find the links for the codecs and what not. The search function is going to be your best bet for the wireless stuff. I personally got lucky, and the fix for mine was very straight forward. I think yours may be a bit more involved.

Regarding the Microsoft® presenter mouse 8000 ... Oddly enough, Microsoft® hasn't seen fit to release their specific drivers to the open source community. <..:p..> Sooooo. I think specific drivers for that one may prove more problematic. However, it just might work anyway. I'd just plug it up and find out. Stranger things have happened.

I've got a couple of broadcom cards that I play with here. What you need to do to get one working depends on which chipset the card has on it.

Probably if you open a terminal window and type:

/sbin/lspci

it will give the information you need. Information actually on all the pci devices attached to your computer.

If you paste back the results for 'ethernet' and 'network' devices we'll see which way you need to go.
