Next to the number of post is a green square. This is your rating, or reputation. You can add to peoples reputation by clicking the scale icon below each member. I don't know how many points you need to progress to another level, I think it's a lot. So please, when you find a post you like, either it's a well formulated question, a brilliant answer or a clever guide. Add to that persons reputation.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I hadn't noticed that the Rank underneath the user name had changed.

It appears that its moved mysteriously off of the posting system. It was set up so that the user title beneath the username was newbie for 0 - 24 posts, member from 25 - 99 posts, senior member for 100 - 249 posts and forum regular above 250 posts.

The title system was to have no basis on the knowledge of users.

Work hard and help a lot of people and you might.

I agree that post numbers should not reflect knowledge, as some Fedora experts just don't post often. So instead of newbie maybe new member.

I think you need to expand your knowledge first joephix. If you try to help people, without really knowing a lot yourself - then you'll only cause confusion and frustration.

You still need to learn.

I think that the "ranking" should be connected to the "karma" rather than the post count. just my $0.02
