See the Fedora Basics FAQ: http://www.fedorafaq.org/basics/#root

Hi cbads.

First, please go here and read the guidelines to use the forum. http://www.fedoraforum.org/?view=guide

Then, go here and read the information there. http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forumdisplay.php?f=61

Lastly, it is NOT recommended that a root privileged account be used for daily operations. Doing so defeats many of the security features built into fedora Linux. It also, therefore, places your fellow Linux users at risk as well.

I do not advise it.
