Hello

I find it rather interesting that FC2 updates are so different to Mandrake updates.

With Mandrake, when you update say a certain package, you find often that you end up having to update a whole family of stuff that goes along with that package. And it can be megs and megs.

What a surprise then that with FC2 you just drag in the package indicated that needs to be brought home, and that's that.

Is this something to do with the way FC2 is put together ?

Thanks - ems

Believe me, there is dependency trouble with Fedora, especially if you use lots of third party software repositories. But this is really not very often.

Perhaps packages are built to only require at least a certain version, instead of exact versions. When the builders of the packages do a good job in creating the dependencies, you only need a bare minimum of packages.
