I download and install Google Earth 4.3, I click the icon of "Google Earth" on the Desktop, and NOTHING happened!
Does anyone have the same problem?

I have installed Google Earth 4.3. The problem I got is I can't start it.

Anyway, thank you, Seve.:)

Easiest way to see why a program isn't starting is to open a terminal and issue the command from the command line. That way you can see whatever errors are being thrown out. Off-hand, I don't know what the name of the Google-Earth executable is or where it might be located on your system, but somewhere in folder /opt/ or /usr/local/ is a good bet. Depending on where the executable is located and how your environment variables are set up, you may need to give the full $PATH to the executable to start it.

Also, Google-Earth requires Direct Rendering. Don't be offended, I have to ask: do you have the necessary video drivers for your hardware to provide DRI?

Hi if you installed googleearth with root privalages, unless you changed the install path, the older version is known to have problems, also it will run without directrendering just not very well at all, have a look here

Thanks for all helps from friends above!

Finally, I know the reason: GE 4.3 Linux requirements update!!!! (See this: http://groups.google.com/group/earth-linux/browse_thread/thread/e77715780fd5ede5# )

The only thing I can do is back to 4.2, for I use P-III. :(
