View Full Version : Moving Out of Rawhide... and leaving Livna Behind [Solved]

Greetings. Per last updates, I noticed that Fedora 9 switched from rawhide to base and updates repos (just as expected, thanks to Fedora-Release). Apparently as a result, I got an updated xine-lib-extras-nonfree package from Livna development hanging due to dependencies. So I guess we need to wait until Livna release their own Livna Release package to point to their stable or "preview" repos, or should we expect from Livna development to catch up? I am meanwhile leaving my repos configuration untouched. Thanks in advance.

PD: Fedora 9 Preview along with Livna have been rock solid stable so far, up to the point that for the first time I was able to sync my Tungsten T with gnome-pilot with no hacking :p

i have received the same error you have.
In order to keep my system up to date I used yum via the command line and ignored packages with dependency resolution problems. I still have the one update pending, I am just waiting till it works out :)

great minds think alike. So i guess were both waiting for the dependancy to be put out in the livna repos. Time is of the essence.

Not to worry as this behavior happens occasionally and skipping/deselecting the offender as you have is a good and proper workaround. :)

EDIT: Might be some concern now that I think about it after opening my big mouth
I have went into my yum.repos.d and edited the livna-devel.repo file and changed "enabled=1" to "enabled=0" as a precaution until the switchover is complete. :D

Hmmm... Now that you put it that way, perhaps we should do the same  .

Just to report that a xine update from Fedora solved the issue with Livna Development's xine-lib, so I guess Livna-Development is still the way to go. I don't know yet how to add " SOLVED" to this thread' s title but I believe is deserved.
