I'm trying to install FC9 Beta in VMWare on Windows. Everything moves along ok until it gets to the point where I select the keyboard. I select US English and it just hangs.
I've tried creating the host as RedHat Linux, Linux (other), SCSI, IDE. I've allocated 30 GB disk and 1GB memory.
Any thoughts as to how to get past this?
Thanks
Jeff

Does it always hang at the same time?
If I were you I would try to fiddle with the VMWare settings a bit and try to make it work. Alternatively, if you just want to try how it feels why not download the live CD?

I am running Vista Home Premium x64 as a host. VMware 6.0.3 and I just completed the install of Fedora 9 beta with no problems. Now am trying to add kde 4.0.3 but having problemw with that.
in VMware I did just the basic setup with NAT and install from ISO with 768 meg memory.
no special settings.
When I did get Fedora installed I did the updates thru a terminal using YUM Udate all went OK.
It worked for me.

I just installed F9 in a VMware VM with 256 MB Ram on F8 as the host. No problem installing and running. And I can have any desktop I want as long as it is Gnome.
1 Have you installed other VMs OK and its just this installation of F9, or is this your first, or near first, installation of a VM ?
2 During the installation, did you run the TEST of the media ? And did it pass ?
3 Does you host have plenty of resources to share?
That is, plenty of RAM, and not all used up with too many Windows apps running, many behind the scenes.

You don't have any mouse issues in the F9 guest where the mouse pointer and click point don't line up?

I've only had problems with USB keyboards with VMware products.
