I posted a while back about getting my broadcom chip BCMx43G to work using the broadcom firmware cutter utility. Apparently, I installed older firmare and cannot get the network working at true 54mb/s (it transmits at 1mbps). How would I go about uninstalling my current firmware and installing a newer one?

I tried installing newer firmware as is and nothing changed. I thought I had the connection fixed back to 54mb/s as it was shown in the NM Applet but it turns out network manager was lying to me :P. The tutorial I have been using is here:
http://www.linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#fw-b43legacy

I'll be honest that it was a tab bit dumb of me to use a tutorial for legacy firmware. I needed my wireless up and running asap and this was the most appealing tutorial I could find at the time.

I have little experience with wireless networking in linux (or networking in general in linux).

Thanks
