You're just wasting your time writing about F9 beta in here, the forums aren't monitored by Fedora developers. Any bugs you find must be reported in Red Hat Bugzilla (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/), general discussion about beta versions happens on the fedora-test mailing list (http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-test-list).

Also - it's not smart to install Fedora9-BETA if you want a fully functional system. Fedora8 is quite stable now. F9-BETA will have a lot of bugs and rough edges.

I try out the new Fedora 9 only in live edition, but everything works on my desk machine. But when I turned on the desktop effects, the screen turned to white, and ... nothing, restart. But I hope the final release will be OK, and I hope to have some codecs out of the box, like there is in Ubuntu. Long live RHEL. Bye.

One more time ... This is not going to happen! Period. See the following links.

I've picked up a bit of a dodgy one... didn't install evolution but gnome still created an icon for it hehe.

Overall since the 600mb of updates I did last night it seems reasonably stable. Can't get the ATI driver to work at the moment though. I'm eagerly awaiting the final release.

You would need to patch the ATI driver to build on the 2.6.25 kernel ( I don't know if a patch exists ) and also downgrade the xorg server to 1.3 .

I'm happy enough to wait for the next release. At least X supports my laptops widescreen by default :)

Ubuntu doesn't have codecs installed 'out-of-the-box'. But it will install them as you need them.
