Hi,
I'm using FC8 on an Acer laptop. Everything installed nicely, most of the hardware was detected automatically. The only problem I've got is my USB DVB-t stick does not want to work. I done some research on the web and found bits and pieces of information but they confused me more than they actually helped. Is somebody available to help me to find out weather this piece of hardware runs under FC8?
Please be patient with me as I know a bit about Linux but not in depth. I'm prepared to learn on the case but might ask some dummy questions on the way.

Artec T14 works just dandy. Copy firmware to /lib/firmware and plug it in. Works almost out-of-the-box. It uses well supported Ultima chipset.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I have got a DVB-T stick already. I would like to use the one I've got rather than buying a new one. How do I find out which chipset it has and whether there is a driver for Fedora available or not?

Sorry, my bad. I wasn't reading your post properly.
What is the brand and model? Chipset can be found with "lsusb" command as root.
Here's my example:
[root@localhost ~]# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05d8:810c Ultima Electronics Corp.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000

Go to root mode with "su -" command.

That helped. I did just "su" before...

It seems that you have TwinhanDTV Alpha USB DVB, right?

Magic!! Just finished what needed to be done to scan succesfully for channels. Thanks a lot!
One last, maybe very stupid, question: Which application do I use to view the channels???

Kaffeine is one good program (what I use). It supports viewing, recording, time shifting, scheduling. It's made for kde, but it runs ok in gnome.
