Hey everyone, I have a problem. Before my installation, I made 3.8 gb of unallocated disk space for linux to make its partitions with. I am installing personal desktop. I put the CD in, start the installation and make the correct partitions and it said it successfully made them. It made: /boot-(about 100mb), swap-(about 256 MB), and root (/) - (The remaining space)
Then, I move on, select the things i want (not much); and begin the installation. It goes for about 20 seconds before giving the following error message:
"Error transferring install image. You are probably Out of Disk Space"
I don't know what its saying; the install file says personal pc only takes up 2.2 gb. I gave it a lot of extra. Please help, I've never had linux on a pc before and this installation is giving me so much trouble! I'm running a pretty old PC: pentium 2 processor, 256 megs of RAM and the 3.8 gb for linux. If anyone could help that would be great. Thanks!
I have already tried the commands:
linux allowcddma
linux ide=nodma
Neither of which have worked for me. Please help!
i know this error is not accurate because i checked the incomplete installations on the partition and only about 2% of the space was used so it couldnt have been out of disk space. Thanks so much!
