Hello there,

i have run through the update process and all updates have been installed (using FC2).
However, now the red exclamation mark reappears but when i try to let the system update it says that everything is up to date. Then, however, the red exclamation mark reappears.
Do i simply have to change the server up2date is using and if yes, where have i got to enter that server-information exactly?

Thanx for any help!
regards,
Jens

The problem is, that up2date mostly uses the official fedora servers, that are very slow, but have the most recent packets. So it takes a few hours/days till all the mirrors are uptodate. So one possibility is to change up2date to look after the servers you use.

actually when i was using them, the servers were quite fast, which surprised me, too.

but I am not sure if the problem with the red exclamation mark reappearing even though everything IS up to date is going to vanish by itself or not.

You can force the alert tool to check again with right click, Check for updates. Double clicking the icon should pop up a list of packages that need to be updated.

Zimzo, I have this problem as well. Which servers do you have up2date checking?

Cheers,
